How we handle your data

What we collect

To prepare or review certified payroll, we receive the information those reports require: worker names, work classifications, hours worked by project and day, pay rates, fringe benefit amounts, deductions, and project and contract details. Our intake uses the last four digits of a Social Security number only. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, full Social Security numbers.

How we store it

Files are transmitted and stored in encrypted systems. Access is limited to PractiSight personnel working on your engagement. We do not post, publish, or display your records.

How long we keep it

• Free review materials: deleted on request at any time, and automatically within 90 days if no engagement follows.
• Client engagement records: retained as set out in your engagement letter and as applicable law requires, which for Virginia public works can be up to six years.

What we never do

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not share it with third parties, except where the law requires us to, or where you direct us to (for example, submitting a report to a general contractor's compliance portal on your instruction).
• We do not use client materials to train artificial intelligence models.
